Ura Bere Bidean - Kantuz
On December 13th 2025, the immersive symphonic concert KANTUZ took place for the first time in Gipuzkoa, marking the debut of the Ura Bere Bidean project in the territory. Conceived as a 360-degree immersive experience, the concert became an artistic and community milestone by transforming the Illunbe pavilion into an enveloping environment where audience and music merged into a unique shared experience.
Driven by the Fair Saturday Foundation, KANTUZ brought together more than 25 Basque artists and bands from different generations, performing symphonic versions of their repertoire created by the renowned composer and conductor Fernando Velázquez, alongside the Euskadiko Orchestra.
Artists such as Süne, Eñaut Elorrieta, En Tol Sarmiento, Zea Mays, Su Ta Gar, Doctor Deseo, among many others, shared the stage with invited Gipuzkoan choirs, delivering over two hours of live music that celebrated Basque culture from its roots to the present day.
The staging featured an immersive audiovisual setup with large-scale screens and a lighting design specifically conceived to enhance the 360-degree format, creating an organic atmosphere where light and music interacted continuously. Lighting design and programming were developed by Iñaki Irastorza and Pedro Marcé, while video content creation was carried out by Jonay S. Hernández. The overall technical coordination of the event was led by Juan Carlos Morillo as Technical Director.
This artistic and community-driven project went beyond a concert, becoming a shared celebration of heritage, identity, and collective singing, connecting generations of audiences and creators through an unforgettable experience.
